Daniel Samet

Biography

Daniel J. Samet writes about US foreign policy. Daniel previously worked for the Office of Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), the Atlantic Council, and the National Endowment for Democracy. He has also been a fellow at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the Clements Center for National Security, the Tikvah Fund, and the Rumsfeld Foundation. 

Daniel is the author of the forthcoming book U.S. Defense Policy toward Israel: A Cold War History (Routledge). Daniel’s other writing has appeared in National Review, Commentary, and the Wall Street Journal, among others. He holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a BA magna cum laude from Davidson College, where he was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa. Daniel speaks French and some Hebrew and Arabic.
